Roll your twin sheets as you store them rather than folding them and you'll never wonder which one is is the twin sheet.
We have 4 twin beds and one queen bed so the majority of time we are looking for a twin fitted sheet.
It cuts down on the question of "Where's a sheet for _______'s bed?" And it also is easier for the little buggers to roll rather than fold a sheet that is twice their size.
Of course, that presupposes that there are sheets washed, dried, and put away properly. Two out of three isn't too bad.
If I used top sheets for the little bugger's beds then I would probably keep each set together in a pillowcase like someone else has suggested on a previous WFMW post.

One tip I read a while ago that we're implementing is folding the sheets really flat and storing them between the mattress and box springs for each bed they go with. We're trying to cut down to just a couple of sets for summer and a couple for winter for each bed - if folded correctly, they'll all fit nicely under the mattress for the bed they go with!
We have three different sizes of beds. To keep the sheets straight, I have three different totes in the laundry room. When the sheets come out of the dryer, I pop them in the correct tote. The original idea was to keep the totes under the appropriate sized bed- less room for kid clutter under the bed then- but they haven't made it out of the laundry room...
Our sheets aren't organized. :( I should try some of these ideas. :)
Rolling the fitted sheets, now that's an idea. Good idea, very good. I have various systems lol
I have 2 gallon ziplock bags that say Queen Flat and Fitted on the outside and I fold and gently place sheets into the ziplock (Use the actual zipper type with the little do-hicky, it will save your sanity. (this is mostly for more long term storage - winter sheets in the summer for example)
I also just keep the sheets in the bedroom they belong and for my rental units (I furnish them) I make sure that all the sheets are the exact same style and color so there is no mistake that it is part of the set for that unit.

Way to go! I'll have to try this. I love that you wrote "if" I used top sheets on the kids' beds. Kids' top sheets - who needs 'em?! It took me 'til #4 to figure that one out. See you're a kid ahead of me!
I'm just impressed that y'all are changing the sheets often enough to have all these methods of organizing them!
Actually, Colored with Memories, I don't change the sheets very often. I was too chicken to admit it out loud. : D I have a little guy that still wets the bed so his gets changed A LOT. We don't even use comforters for that reason. Fleece blankets are cheaper and easier to wash.
